# Garage Coating Removal Planning in Peoria

Describe an old coating, peeling areas and slab repairs before asking for a replacement-floor proposal.

## Describe what is already on the floor

State whether the surface is painted, coated or bare if known. Identify peeling or damaged areas and provide previous product or repair records where available.

## Separate removal from repairs

Ask how removal is priced and which cracks or damaged edges are included. Clarify what happens if preparation reveals additional conditions before approving a new coating.

## Resolve suitability before finish choices

Have the installer explain the slab assessment and any relevant moisture or surface findings. A decorative finish choice does not establish that the existing surface is suitable.

### Put these items in the written scope

| Scope item | Confirm before agreeing |
| --- | --- |
| Removal | Areas, old material and disposal. |
| Repairs | Named repairs, allowances and excluded conditions. |
| New system | Preparation findings and accepted coating specification. |

## Details to gather

- Current surface
- Peeling areas
- Known repairs
- Cracks and access

Get the assessed preparation and any extra-work approval terms in writing.

## Questions about this request

### Can a new coating go over a peeling one?

Ask the installer to assess the existing material and explain the preparation. Do not infer suitability from a photo.

### Is every crack repair included?

Have the proposal identify the cracks or allowance covered and the change-approval process.
